A Little About Me

I arrived in the USA as a refugee from Bosnia and Herzegovina, determined to contribute to a better world and repay the country that offered me peace.

This commitment drives my passion for teaching and my belief in the goodness of people. My teaching journey began in 2010 after earning my Master’s in Education from Arizona State University. I’ve since dedicated myself to crafting hands-on math lessons. Manipulatives are a hands-on tool for my students.

Outside of teaching, I enjoy reading, cooking, and watching PBS Masterpiece Series. My thoughts often return to my students, seeking ways to help them overcome challenges and embrace new knowledge. My family, especially my son and his wife, are my greatest support and joy.

Hello, I’m Mrs. Z

I am a dedicated teacher passionate about teaching math in a logical and engaging way. My goal is to inspire the next generation to develop a deep appreciation for mathematics through clear and meaningful learning experiences.
